Missionary Scholarship Program

Missionary Scholarship Program

Called to Be a Missionary, But Finances Are Holding You Back?

At SOLTI, we believe that nothing should prevent a committed soul from preparing for mission work. That’s why we created the Missionary Scholarship Program—a way for passionate, dedicated students to receive the training they need without bearing the full financial burden.
This program exists to help students afford the Comprehensive Evangelism course, ensuring that financial limitations don’t stop them from stepping into their calling. Through the Missionary Scholarship Program, accepted students will volunteer on campus in exchange for room, board, and credit toward their tuition.
This is more than just a scholarship—it’s an opportunity to step forward in faith, serve in a mission-driven environment, and take hold of the training that will equip you to impact the world for Christ.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    1. What is the Missionary Scholarship Program?

The Missionary Scholarship Program is a month-to-month volunteer work program designed to help students fund their tuition for the Comprehensive Evangelism Course. Participants volunteer full-time (40 hours per week) in exchange for room, board, and credit toward their tuition.

    2. How much credit do I earn each month toward my tuition?

Each month you volunteer full-time through the Missionary Scholarship Program, you earn the equivalent of 10% credit toward your total tuition for the Comprehensive Evangelism Course. This equals $1,500 in tuition credit for every full month of service (40 hours per week).

By volunteering for 10 full months, you can earn 100% tuition credit, effectively covering the entire cost of the Comprehensive Evangelism Course through your service. This program makes it possible for students to receive full missionary training without carrying a financial burden—all while gaining practical skills and contributing to the mission of the campus.

    3. How long is the program, or can I come at any time?

Missionary Scholarship students can apply and come to campus at any time. How early you should arrive depends on your financial needs and how much tuition credit you want to earn before the next Comprehensive Evangelism Course begins.

If you have little or no finances available, you can still earn a full scholarship by volunteering full-time for 10 months before the course begins. Through your service, you can fully fund your missionary training without carrying a financial burden.

What if I arrive in the middle of the month?
Partial tuition credit may be awarded if a student completes at least 80 hours (equivalent to two full weeks) of volunteer work within a month.
In this case, students may receive $750 in tuition credit, subject to administrative approval.

    4. What if I earn my tuition but the timing doesn’t match the next course start date?

Students who complete their volunteer work and earn full tuition credit ahead of schedule can defer enrollment and join the next available Comprehensive Evangelism Course.

Tuition credit earned through the Missionary Scholarship Program will remain valid and can be applied toward a future course, subject to approval and space availability.

Example: A student who finishes their volunteer service by November 2025 may enroll in the course starting in February 2026.

    5. Is there a limit on how much credit I can earn?

Students may earn up to $15,000 in tuition credit through the Missionary Scholarship Program.

No additional tuition credit will be awarded for service beyond the full tuition amount, unless special arrangements are made.
Students are welcome to continue serving as volunteers after reaching the tuition cap, but any further service will not count toward additional tuition credit.

    6. Is there any type of refund?

Tuition credit earned through volunteer work is non-transferable and non-refundable.

If a student fails to enroll within 12 months (the next school year) after completing their volunteer service, or voluntarily withdraws from the program, any unused credit will be forfeited unless otherwise approved by administration.

Exceptions may be granted on a case-by-case basis for situations such as medical emergencies or family crises.

    7. What kind of volunteer work will I be doing?
    • Participants will serve in a variety of practical areas based on the needs of the campus. Volunteer work often includes agriculture, where students gain hands-on experience in:

      • Planting, seeding, and cultivating crops

      • Harvesting and preserving fruits and vegetables

      • Pruning and maintaining orchards

      • Setting up and maintaining irrigation systems

      • Soil health and composting

      • Sorting, washing, packing, freezing, and dehydrating produce

      • Weeding, landscaping, and general grounds upkeep

Depending on campus needs, students may also assist in areas such as:

      • Construction & Maintenance – Helping with facility repairs, upkeep, and small building projects.

      • Kitchen & Meal Preparation – Assisting in preparing and cooking plant-based meals for the campus.

      • Housekeeping – Maintaining the cleanliness and order of campus common areas, guest rooms, and facilities.

Assignments are based on the needs of the campus and may vary during your time here. Each opportunity is designed to build practical skills, develop an attitude of service, and prepare you for future mission work.

    • Are physically able to engage in farm work and general labor
    • Are willing to commit to full-time work (40 hours/week) for six months

    9. How many hours will I do volunteer work each week?

Participants will do volunteer work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Volunteer schedules may vary depending on the season and specific campus needs.

      10. What if I have no prior experience?

      11. What are the living accommodations like?

Participants will live on campus in shared housing with fellow scholarship students. Housing includes basic accommodations, shared kitchen facilities, and a supportive community environment.

      12. Will meals be provided?

Yes! Meals are included as part of the scholarship. Participants will help contribute to the preparation and upkeep of the dining area as part of their community responsibilities.

      13. Can I volunteer work part-time instead of full-time?

No, the Missionary Scholarship Program requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours of volunteer service per week. This ensures that each participant earns the full scholarship value and contributes meaningfully to the campus operations.

      14. Can international students apply?

Yes! However, international applicants must ensure that they have the proper visa to stay in the U.S. for the duration of the program. We encourage international students to reach out to our staff for assistance. Please email info@streamsoflightinstitute.net
