How to Apply
1. Review the Handbook
Begin by reading the SOLTI Student Handbook. This will give you an in-depth understanding of our values, policies, and program expectations, so you know what to expect as a student at SOLTI.
2. Complete Online Application
Fill out the application form on our website. A non-refundable $50 application fee is required to submit your application.
3. Submit Required Documents
Along with your application, please provide the following documents:
- Personal Photo: A recent photo of yourself.
- References: Contact information for three references who can speak about different aspects of your character:
- Church Reference: A pastor or elder from your local church who knows your spiritual journey and readiness for the program.
- Employer Reference: A current or former employer who can provide insight into your work ethic, reliability, and character.
- Additional Reference: A personal reference (not a family member) who can speak to your character, interpersonal skills, and spiritual growth.
4. Background Check
For the safety and well-being of our community, all applicants must complete a background check. You will receive specific instructions on how to complete this step after submitting your application.
5. Interview With the Institute Staff
Once your application is reviewed, you’ll be invited for an interview with our school staff, conducted usually via Zoom. This interview, which takes about an hour, gives us a chance to learn more about you and answer any questions you might have.
6. Application Review
After all steps are completed, including the background check and interview, the Education Committee will prayerfully review your application to determine acceptance.
7. Notification of Acceptance
If you’re accepted, you will receive an official acceptance letter via email with details on the next steps, including payment information and important program dates.

Tuition Cost
The total tuition cost for the Streams of Light Training Institute program is $15,000 and this will cover:
- Classroom instruction
- Room and board
- Outreach activities
- Materials

Other Expenses to Consider
While tuition covers most of your needs, there are a few additional costs to plan for:
- Personal Care: Estimated at around $500 for personal items, toiletries, etc.
- Mission Trip Costs: Varies based on the destination and outreach plans during/after the program.

1. Is this program accredited?
The Streams of Light Training Institute is not a traditional academic institution and does not offer degrees or formal accreditation. Instead, it provides practical, hands-on training in comprehensive evangelism, designed to prepare students for mission work.
2. When does the course start and end?
This year, the course begins on March 3rd and concludes on November 23rd.
3. When should students arrive?
Students should plan to arrive between February 27th and March 2nd. If you need to arrive earlier than February 27th, please let us know during the application process, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
4. Is there a semester break?
Yes, the semester break is scheduled for June 23rd–29th.
5. Are there opportunities for mission trips?
Yes! Each year, students participate in multiple mission trips. For the first school year, we have four mission trips planned: two international and two domestic.
6. What should I plan to bring with me?
The institute provides basic furniture (beds, desks, chairs, drawer space) and bedding.
Students are responsible for bringing the following items:
- Personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc.)
- Clothes for all seasons (including formal wear for church and casual wear for work)
- Comfortable shoes for outreach and work
- Laundry soap
- Bible and devotional materials
- Notebook, pens, and supplies
- Towels and washcloths
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Backpack
- Etc.

- 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM: Devotional & Prayer Time

8. Are meals provided?
Yes, meals are included in the tuition cost. We provide 2 plant-based, nutritious meals and a light supper daily. Please review the handbook for more information.
9. Can I bring my own vehicle?
Yes, students are encouraged to bring their own vehicles. Students must maintain their vehicles and have insurance.
10. Is there Wi-Fi on campus?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available for academic and outreach purposes. Students are encouraged to use technology responsibly to maintain focus on the program’s mission.
10. What is the age requirement for applicants?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
