Streams of Light International draws its inspiration from Ellen White’s 1848 vision of the publishing work spreading throughout the world like “streams of light.” In its modern development, SOLI began during the 2020 pandemic as a literature distribution effort in California and soon grew into a broader movement focused on placing The Great Controversy in homes and mobilizing church members for practical evangelism across the nation and in Europe.

As the work expanded, so did the need for trained workers who could not only participate in evangelism, but also lead, train, and equip others. Initial plans for a training school were developed in 2022, and in 2024, after a renewed season of prayer, study, and fasting, SOLI moved forward with establishing the Streams of Light Training Institute (SOLTI).

Property was secured in Pullman, Michigan, at the former Oak Haven campus, where SOLTI’s first Evangelism School program began in 2025. Later that year, the former Bass Memorial Academy campus in southern Mississippi became available, opening the way for the establishment of the Gulf Coast Campus.

With classrooms, dormitories, a cafeteria, acreage, and industrial facilities, the Gulf Coast Campus allowed SOLTI to expand the Evangelism School while also developing a Trade School that combines vocational training with spiritual development and missionary service.

Today, the Evangelism School is offered at both the Oak Haven and Gulf Coast campuses, while the Trade School is offered exclusively at the Gulf Coast Campus. Together, these programs are designed to prepare Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, practically equipped workers to serve local churches and advance the gospel around the world.
