Who Is This Program For?
This program is for anyone who wants to grow in English while deepening their walk with God and using their skills to serve others. The course is mainly designed for beginner to lower-intermediate English learners, though students outside this range who feel the program would benefit them are still welcome to join.
Whether you feel called to ministry, mission-focused training, or simply desire to grow spiritually for God’s honor and glory, developing your English is an important part of that preparation.
MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Pat Humphrey
Pat Humphrey is a certified ESL instructor with experience teaching English to both college-prep students and adult learners. She serves as Director of the English for Mission program at the Streams of Light Training Institute (SOLTI). Pat believes learning English should be interactive, enjoyable, and practical.
Mariana Nastas
Mariana serves as the ESL Coordinator at the BASS Campus, overseeing operations, supporting teachers and students, and fostering a spiritually uplifting, mission-focused learning environment. She previously worked as an Outreach Coordinator and teacher with the Lifecourse Mission Program in Portugal. Currently completing her TESOL certification and a Master’s degree in Biblical Mission and Wellness, she seeks to connect language learning with discipleship. Mariana enjoys nature, discovering object lessons in daily surroundings, and deepening her relationship with Jesus—the greatest love of her life.
Ela Kahma Gabriel
After accepting Jesus Christ in 2008, Ela committed her life to service and education. She has served in various ministry roles, recently earning her ESL certification. Ela believes true education develops both character and intellect. Following Christ’s teaching methods, she integrates Scripture, real-life experiences, and creative activities to foster joyful, meaningful learning that prepares students for this life and eternity.
Stephanie Salazar
Stephanie is a CELTA-certified ESL teacher with over eight years of experience teaching adults at the Adventist University of Chile. She also taught in language schools and provided private tutoring for three years in South Korea. Throughout these years, she has participated in mission trips and missionary service, viewing English not only as a skill, but as a meaningful tool to serve others and share the love of Christ.
